Dr. Sarah Holbrook is the Director of Humanities for the Kingston City School District in New York, where she leads district-wide literacy initiatives grounded in the Science of Reading. With nearly two decades of experience in education as a teacher, reading specialist, and administrator, she specializes in translating reading research into practical systems that improve outcomes for students and support teachers.

Dr. Holbrook is a Fellow with the SUNY New Paltz Science of Reading Center and an adjunct professor of literacy, where she helps prepare the next generation of educators. She is also the founder of Sunday Literacy, an educational consulting organization that partners with schools and districts across the country on literacy implementation, leadership, MTSS, and instructional improvement.

Her work has been featured at state, national, and international conferences, and she is passionate about ensuring every child has access to evidence-based reading instruction and the opportunities that literacy provides.

Judy Boksner has over 25 years of New York City Education experience as an educator, classroom teacher, coach, and reading specialist. Judy works with teachers and children all throughout areas in Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Greenwich Ct. She has extensive training in evidence-based methodologies such as Orton Gillingham, Wilson’s Fundations, The Hochman Method, also known as The Writing Revolution and ThinkSRSD Writing Methodology.

Judy’s work may be seen and followed on her show The Literacy View YouTube channel and podcast where she discussed and interview some of the leading voices in education about shifting to evidence and science aligned practices to accelerate student outcomes.

Judy works with many private clients as a reading specialist and is also teaching mini courses at Manhattanville College.

Teresa Ranieri is a School-Based Literacy Coach now in her 31st year with New York City Public Schools. She supports elementary teachers in strengthening evidence-based literacy instruction, assessment, and effective implementation of the HMH Into Reading curriculum. Her professional preparation includes Associate-level Orton-Gillingham training, EBLI, The Writing Revolution, and a SUNY Science of Reading microcredential, and she is a LETRS Facilitator.

Her literacy leadership has helped guide a schoolwide shift toward evidence-based instruction across foundational skills, vocabulary and knowledge building, comprehension, and writing, contributing to significant gains in student reading proficiency.

Teresa is a 2026 Top 50 Educator Trailblazer, an Educators for Excellence Impact Award recipient, and a New York Urban League Bethune Fellow. She is currently enrolled in the Reading Science: All Grades, Advanced Certificate program at Brooklyn College, CUNY.

Alyssa Colon-Garcia has dedicated more than 25 years to public education, beginning her career as an elementary and middle school teacher before moving into instructional and school leadership roles.

For the past four years, she has served as the Executive Director of English Language Arts, Literacy and Early Childhood for Yonkers Public Schools, where she leads districtwide literacy efforts and has helped guide the implementation of Science of Reading practices across the district.

She is passionate about supporting educators with the knowledge, tools, and systems needed to strengthen literacy instruction and improve outcomes for students.
